Genesis Rodriguez was born in Miami. She is the daughter of Jose Luis 'El Puma' Rodriguez who is a famous Venezuelan actor and singer and Carolina Perez, a Cuban model. She has two half-sisters. She was a student at the Carrolton School of the Sacred Heart, Miami. Rodriguez was an actor since a young age. She took classes during the summer at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and also began other acting classes.
