Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff is a French actress was born on May 3, 1986. She attended the Cours Florent drama school, Paris. She has been in movies such as Loup 2009, Sleepless Night 2011 and Hacker's Game 2015. She plays the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City to a Korean father and a French-Russian mom. He was working as consul with the French government. Eugene Klementieff, a painter was her grandpa. Her parents chose the name "Pom" because it's identical in pronunciation to Korean words for both "spring" as well as "tiger". Klementieff spent one year in Canada prior to moving her family frequently due to her father's work. After moving to France the family lived in Japan. Her father was diagnosed with cancer when she was five, and her mother had schizophrenia and was incapable of caring for children as a result, and Klementieff was raised by her aunt and uncle who were paternal. Her uncle, who she described as "like her father", died at age 18. Her brother, who was older who committed suicide years later, was also her aunt. After the death of her uncle Klementieff was a law student for a brief time to please her aunt. However, she didn't find the career path appealing. In France she was employed as a waitress and salesperson. In the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris she started her acting career when she was 19. It was only two months into studying when she won the competition to be a part of the theater that provided her free two-years of classes with some of the most renowned teachers in the school. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006), her first acting job professionally. The filming process took three days. Klementieff was supposed push another person down a set staircase, but she accidentally fell to the ground. Gael Mostl kept the footage in the film. Loup (2009) which is the French film that focuses on the Siberian reindeer herders was her first major role. The filming took place in a campthat was a few hours away from the nearest village in which temperatures fell to well below zero
