Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who formerly worked as a television correspondent for ABC News. Her stints as
co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend (2014-2018) and co-host of The View
(2015-2018) are very well-known. In the past, she anchors World News Now and
America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. The position she held was in radio sales, due to
the lack of television opportunities. After a few years of working as a
production assistant at WKEF/WRGT she was capable of reporting and anchoring
periodically. She was the anchor for weekends for WCPO TV in Cincinnati as well
as the weekday anchor for WCPO TV in Cincinnati from 2002 to 2005. Following
the expiration of her contract she took on the role of anchor and reporter for
sports at the NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV in Chicago between November 2005 and
December 2011. In December 2011, she was recruited by ABC News, the news division
of ABC. The first time she appeared on ABC News on World News Now and America
This Morning on January 2 2012. She also appeared on Good Morning America's
fill in program, Good Morning America, starting on January 2, 2012. Later, she
was appointed a New York-based reporter for all ABC News programs. Her final
episode of World News Now and America This Morning was broadcast on January 22,
2013. On August 9, 2014 she debuted as co-anchor for Good Morning America
Weekend, after the departure of Bianna Golodryga. She moved to Yahoo! News. ABC
announced that she will join The View as a cohost for season 19. On August 3,
2016 it was announced they have renewed her contract for the 20th season. She
was also renewed as co-host for Season 21. She was on the show mostly during
episodes on Fridays from the 21st season and the 22nd season.
